Protecting our families and teachers is our top priority. During the 2020-2021 school year we implemented new procedures while navigating this rapidly evolving situation. We reduced class sizes and classroom time, and we added an at-home school option.
All of our students wear masks in the classroom and we have increased the amount of time students spend out of doors, even during weather events when safe to do so. Our children have expressed how much they enjoy outdoor learning and we will be continuing this practice in the 2021-22 school year.
We have also increased the frequency of housekeeping to include cleaning all high-touch surfaces and bathrooms after each class and a deep cleaning weekly. We only use cleaning products approved by the Maryland State Department of Education for preschool classrooms.
Each day, families are required to fill out a form prior to arrival to report their child’s temperature, potential exposures, and any symptoms of illness they may be experiencing.
While we hope to returning to our typical school schedule as soon as feasible, we expect to continue many of these policies in the 2021-2022 school year. This may change as the Board of Directors considers new information or as state regulations regarding operations change in reaction to the pandemic.
